Baku Maeda

Have you met Baku Maeda? He's an artist who transforms the everyday into the unexpected. Recently (as you can see on his Tumblr and Instagram), he's been squaring up flora for a series called '1bit' (also 'bitleaf' and 'bitflower').

I love this kind of simple manipulation of ephemeral objects. It makes you reexamine the world around you and look at things differently. Go to Baku's sites to see what else he's been up to: making animals out of fireworks (and then igniting them), drawing on water with ink, and more.
